Badger
We thought we had left the self catering in plenty of time to get the food shopping and things I needed for Brownies but got chatting to the owners so ended up being a bit of a rush but we made it just as Sally arrived.
It was great to see her again and catch up on all the news. We walked down to the bridge and sheltered from the rain and then went to The Kessock Hotel for Lunch. Soup and we then divided two starts and fitted in a pud too.
Then off to the point. Beautiful, calm and warm and we sat for a good hour or two hoping for the dolphins to show but not today but we did see a few seals that swam by wondering what all the fuss was about.
Back to mine for a cuppa and to show Sally the garden and then off to the beach with Brownies. Great fun was had by all. The girls made a stand out of rocks for the BBQ and then tried to make a flame by rubbing two sticks together, surprisingly we had to end up using a match ;)
Pebble painting next and an impressive display made on a handy log. Toasted marshmallows. a rendition of The penguin song in their swimming things which looked sooo funny and then in for a dip. I did have a paddle but only up to my ankles. It had started to rain by this point. Then hometime.
Sally and myself stayed and had a few toasted marshmallows ourselves and then headed back to the self catering.
Out at just before ten for a walk up the lane in the sunshine. Watched hares in the field and then on the way back watched this badger who was totally unaware that we were there.
A great day.
