at home with an Ivysaurus

gentle hands

This photograph represents just how brilliant Ivy is getting at understanding instructions. This is her delicately stroking a narcissus in the garden after being told to use 'gentle hands'. I'm very proud. She is very good at doing what she's asked (more of the time), she tends to ignore Euan when he says 'come here' to her, but today I talked him through the action I use when doing it and she appeared by his hands immediatly.

I still have a bit of a headache today- but I felt sorry for Ivy being mostly stuck with only her parents to talk to for almost a week. So after a trip to the allotment to pick delicious strawberries we went to see Elena and Elseanne. We bumped into Becky and baby Edith in the street, and then bumped into Don and Elseanne going for a walk- which was funny because if i'd have been 5 minutes later I'd have missed them. Ivy had great fun playing at Elseanne's house with all her toys. She doesn't quite understand that Elseanne doesn't understand her when she says please.

I got a proper hug from Ivy this evening. She held her arms out, pounced and wrapped them round my shoulders. It was brilliant.

It was my turn to read her bedtime story tonight, but apparently altough i'm very huggable i'm not so good at stories, she kept looking at the door and shouting 'dada dada dada!'.

I got a job lot of unenveloped sewing patterns on ebay for a brilliant price and spent tonight sorting through them working out what i've got. It's been great fun- there's some nice stuff, some hideous stuff and some down-right bizarre stuff (a pattern to make a giant wall giraffe and a fruit headband among them)
