Tractor Day! There is a God.

You've probably wondered if God exists, and I can confirm he does, and he does work in mysterious ways.

Today he made a bicycle race/meet coincide with a tractor meet, on the pass. Not just any tractor; old restored, very very smokey tractors. The cyclists were having a bad day.

It's very interesting how the balance of power shifted on the pass as well.

Usually it's RV/caravans not letting vehicles past, but today, they were stuck behind these wonderful tractors. They went at the pace of the tractor. See how you bloody like it!

The cyclists usually give grief to vehicles, but when you have a loud, unsilenced tractor that really isn't that nimble, nor does it brake particularly quickly, the cyclists had to resort to "riding properly", behaving like "humans" and understanding that the tractor driver really didn't care, and the other occupants of the tractor could easily be drunk and you'd have a bottle thrown at you.

The bikers also generally rule the road as well, but it doesn't matter how many bikers in your group, one tractor rules that bit of road.

And as for the buses, they were reduced to waiting for tractors as well.

An interesting note (as I've organised motoring events before) - what sort of vehicle is the support vehicle for such a grand event? Very large modern farming tractors of course, but I only saw one being towed up (faster than it could probably go on its own steam in fact).

350 Tractors on Stelvio. Absolute carnage. Loved every minute of it.

So if you wonder if there is a God, well there is, and he has a keen sense of humour.
