Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie loves Holyrood Park

Archie’s routine has been disrupted a bit, what with JR being on holiday now, and so an early rise for us is not compulsory. He didn’t have his normal couple of hours kip, waking about 10am, so that when we went out, he was already a bit tired.

For however much he loves his walks, he HATES putting on his harness. He walks round the edge of the kitchen keeping well away from me. I just sit and dangle it, asking him to come and put it on. Eventually he comes, and stands and looks as if he’s being tortured.

Another go in the car today (vomitless) this time through the park. We had such fun at the beach yesterday, we were intending going there again, but stopped off by the Duck Pond instead as Archie was trying to climb out of the passenger window.

He didn’t bark at the swans and pigeons, even though a swan hissed at him. But when we were up a (wee) hill, looking down on the park and the city he barked at all the ‘wee’ cars whizzing by.

He had a great time - one grumpy collie snapped at him. One lovely ‘failed’ guide dog wanted to play, but the thing he loved best was leaping around and rolling in long grass. He also loved looking at the flowers, lol.

He had a big sleep when we came back - we feel we can leave him for extended periods now that he has his doggy door. We went to Pets at Home and got one of those bowls with bits sticking up to stop him gobbling. I’m sure he’ll love it.

Also popped into M&S and got a few goodies. I LOVE M&S food department.

Tennis this afternoon.

PS He's not really interested in flowers. Check out this one to find what he IS interested in...
