........do the walk............

Tonight's pins don't really have any significance..........just random badges from the hockey and triathlon.........by now you can probably understand why there is such a big deal about collecting these pins.........there are huge swap marts at every major event..........there were thousands of different pins available in Manchester....and a roaring trade in swapping.

I don't know if they have one in Glasgow but in Manchester there was a walk of fame........every medalist had a plastic tile produced with their name and event emblazoned......every night these tiles were laid out and stuck down along one of the paths through the village....making a kind of carpet of winners........growing longer by the day. World famous athletes are used to seeing their names in lights so they weren't too fussed about the walk of fame...right?

Wrong!!....most of them had their photo's taken standing/kneeling/crouching/lying by their name...............and on the last day the local hardware stores had a run on craft knives..........most of the winners cut their tile from the carpet to take home with them!

I think I can stretch this series to the end of Glasgow 2014........then I'll have to start thinking again.

Another restful day........apart from a trip to the Doc's with the Boss........followed by a mega shop at Asda!

Das vidanya moy padruga.

Extra!Extra! a newspaper article today proclaimed that anglers put as much strain on their hearts fishing a competition as Premiership footballers do in a match!......and you thought it was all about sitting on your arse doing not much!
