Glencoe

Excellent higher results for No 1 this morning (4 A's and C - she wasn't happy about the C !). Big sighs of relief all round. Hard work pays off.

No 1 headed back home by train as there's a party tonight, and she is returning to Oban on Wednesday. It's a gorgeous train ride from Oban to Glasgow, she even spent a few hours wandering around Weegie town, savouring the post Commonwealth Games atmosphere.

Following a recommendation on Tripadviser - the rest of the Weegies embarked on a road trip of their own. A drive to Dalmally, past the Ben Cruachan hollow mountain, into Glen Orchy. At stunning drive along a single track road, loads of stops to view waterfalls and river pools and Butterflies. On to the desolately beautiful Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. A pit stop at the mountain Cafe (no sign of snow today, blue skies and 20 degrees).

Driving through Glencoe always warms my soul ( I once cycled through it!) - stunning views and the two remaining Weegies were almost impressed !

A final stop at Port Appin - we would have had a paddle but no one thought to bring towels.

We were all a bit tired this evening after our circular trip - and missing or eldest Weegie.

Finally finished the most recent Diana Gabaldon book...bit disappointed they were STILL in the colonies and hadn't made it home to Scotland. Maybe in the next one?
