Thespians

A wee trip to the Underbelly for a show tonight.

Although it took longer to drive from Gogarburn through rush hour traffic to venue at the George Square Theatre to watch David O'Doherty's particular brand of Irish humour, than it took for the man himself to share his wit and wisdom.

As he said himself at the end of the show "it wasn't bad". Witty and clever in parts, predictable in others. The venue is one of the university buildings, which smelt of pee and old cabbage - like being back at a 1970s school.

I loved his grumpy old man's homage to Jack Kerouac's 'On the Road' - how different literature would be if the protagonist has to curtail his meanderings to charge up his phone and post on facebook ! My kind of humour.

And who DOESN'T find an Irishman sexy and funny !!

Here's a wee blip of the box office outside that made me laugh - typical Scottish night out - the queue for the bar is bigger than the queue for tickets !

G'wan yersels.
