Baking and blackberry picking

As a parent, you find yourself emulating days from your own childhood. It's difficult not to, especially if your childhood was a happy affair. Audrey had a typical day from my childhood today. Walks, baking and blackberry picking.

She was very pleased with her banana and raisin muffins (see pic - before they went in the oven). It's pretty tricky baking with a toddler. You have to strike the right balance between giving them stuff to do so they feel like they are actually making something and the whole thing going spectacularly wrong/messy. It's a fine line!

We went blackberry picking late afternoon. I'd forgotten how violent it could be. I am covered in scratches and nettle stings. Audrey just sat in the buggy holding the container, laughing at me! Angus was in work, we miss him. Looking forward to an 'illness-free' family afternoon tomorrow.
