at home with an Ivysaurus

poor wee soul

This picture sums up most of our day. Ivy has not been in a good mood, which started last night when she howled her way through bedtime routine and woke up howling again before 11pm. Took her to bed with me, where she spent a good part of the night continuing with the howling. Could only have been moving teeth, don't think i've ever seen her so unhappy. We've got her crib back next to our bed to give her somewhere to lie where she can't roll about so much, at 5.30am she climbed out of it and over me to go get a drink from her cup.

(she's not actually crying in this picture, it turns out she'll stop to look at the camera, a trick I might be tempted to try next time we're up in the small hours of the night)

The only exciting thing we did all day was walk to tescos (took a while as Ivy wanted to stop to pick daisys, hand me stones (for safekeeping it seems, i got told off when I put them down) and squack at some robins. Apart from that the day was mostly spent trying to keep her happy by giving her undivided attention, she simply wouldnt accept being left alone and cried and clapped her hands for please if I left the room.

She did have her good moments today though, for example when Euan came home we had a three-way family hug and Ivy gave us each a kiss and in the bath she was lounging with her head on one side of the bucket and her feet on the other and said 'gen' when Euan did 'this little piggy...'

Today she refused to eat dried apricots, something she used to love. Following on from her turning down strawberries and brambles we're getting a bit worried she might have decided only to eat bannanas, so we're going to hide 'the yellow fruit' until she starts eating other things too.

For dinner we had camembert fondue, I swapped Ivy a piece of bread she was eating for a piece dipped in the cheese, she put it in her mouth and then went 'mmmm? mmmmm? mmmmmmMMM' and looked concerned. ' Was worried she was dissapointed that her bread had suddenly stopped tasting good, but I think it was just taking her a while to get used to it.
