Body modesty
Thought i'd blip a picture of Ivy's poor shoulder bruise after yesterday's mishap. I'm hopeful it'll be the worst bruise she'll get in her life, and therefor worthy of commemorating, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. She seems total unbothered by it today, so I think it looks alot worse than it is.
Not a bad night at all with Ivy considering we were bracing ourselves for being up all night with her feeling sore. She woke up from morning nap at quarter to 10 so we went to gaelic toddlers, where Ivy played with some dried rice, got very excited when Hannah arrived and generally wandered about. At snack time, Hannah was offering Ivy her food which Ivy was eating, so essentailly Hannah was hand feeding Ivy. Ivy took everyone being distracted by singing at the end as an opportunity to try and wander into the toilets.
Went for coffee and cake with Edith and Becky afterwards, sat outside at the ceilidh place. Both Edith and Ivy got very upset by the fact we were eating cake and they weren't, but giving them a small piece didn't help because then they were VERY upset there was no more. Ivy got her hands cleaned by an elderly lady who went to find a cloth, and after having her hands cleaned Ivy held back out the first hand again for more cleaning.
On the way home from the cheilidh place we recieved the most passive aggressive inviation to a first birthday party that as a result we will not be attending. Cheered up though when we met another Mairead in Tesco- she said her name with a 't' on the end though 'Mairead, like pirate' and had a very adorable 10month old daughter. We had a good discussion about how good skittles are.
In the afternoon Ivy pulling things out of cupboards and then busied herself putting some teabags out of a bx into another box (both items she scavenged out of a bin, the tea bags are older than her from my old work locker). It was better than her original plan of making tea....
About 4.30 Ivy wanted to stand on her window to wait for 'Dada', she knows he comes in the back after school. I think she must have some sort of secret daddy senses because about 5 minutes later Euan appeared and Ivy was able to gleefully hammer on the window for his attenion. Maybe she just got lucky- he's not always home at the same time each day.
For dinner we had some Spiney tails (rock lobsters) that Becky gave us, had them steamed with a garlic butter. Both Euan and I were cracking them out of their shells to give to Ivy and she was eating them faster than we could de-shell them. Expensive taste my Ivy, first scallops and now Oysters. She ate so many, she didn't have enough room to finish a Banana for pudding.
Exciting day tomorrow- It's the Elphin chicken day, which includes the annual chicken race.
