Castle Stalker

This really is the most annoying castle to photograph! Either the tide is out when the light is right or the mist is too low or the sun is shining in the wrong direction:-) Just in case it rains for the rest of the week, I'm posting this shot today although I'm still not happy with it!

After a walk around Port Appin this morning (which didn't take long, as it's only a wee place!), we drove towards Oban and stopped for lunch at Poppies Garden Centre and Cafe, as recommended by several blip friends. Excellent choice and the food, service and view were great.

After lunch we drove along Glen Orchy, again on the recommendation of blippers, but were a bit disappointed with the views. Too many trees and tall bracken hid the River Orchy and there was only a trickle of water in it at the moment. Even the falls with water coming in from various angles looked a bit sad and we could only imagine how spectacular it must be when the river is in spate.

We drove back down Glen Coe, which looked wonderful in the sunshine and the peaks were much clearer than yesterday. Not so much traffic today either! So many lochs and mountains and glens round here and the scenery is so beautiful. Great place for a holiday:-)
