Deer "Feed"

On our way "up north" this weekend, deer feed was everywhere. Gas stations, vegetable stands, grocery stores.

From left to right are apples, carrots, and sugar beets.

Here's how it works. The hunter drags bag after bag of the stuff into the woods, dumping it into his shooting lanes. The deer come and feast, then...starting November 15th, the hunter comes and shoots the deer.

Since I am NOT a hunter (and never will be), it seems like a part of the "game" that shouldn't be allowed. Too unfair of an advantage. What's next...putting out Reese's Peanut Butter Cups before blasting away at a squirrel?

At an average of 4 dollars a bag...at least the farmers are making some money.
