All the fun of the fair!
As I mentioned on Saturday the fun fair has come to town.....and tonight was the last night!
I thought it would be worth a trip out this evening with my camera to try a couple of night shots!
We picked Emily up from Holiday club this afternoon as she is having a sleep over with us because mummy and daddy are away with work.
So as a surprise after she'd had her tea (and it had had plenty of time to go down!!) we told her we were going out somewhere and that it was a surprise!
It was all of 10 minutes in the car and after a dozen or so "are we there yets?" we parked the car and walked around the shopping arcade onto the market forecourt to be greeted by lots of loud music, flashing lights and shrieks of laughter! "This is an awesome surprise" Emily yelled as she took in the sight!
Grandad was the camera holder whilst I had to go on the rides with Emily!! At 6 she was too young to go on most of the ones she wanted to ride on by herself! I've not been shaken and stirred like that for a long long time...........I think I will have some aches pains and possibly bruises tomorrow!! I was a bit reluctant to take her on the Twister, but she pleaded with her big blue eyes, so I succumbed! Boy was it fast.......not so sure it was a good idea, I was clinging on to Em as well as holding on myself......she was sliding up and down the seat like a little rag doll, bless her, but she loved it!!! I think she will be an adrenalin junkie when she's older!! I think I am almost past going on these rides now.......I was decidedly dizzy and a bit shaky when we got off....getting old I guess :-(
The one ride I wouldn't go on, and definitely not take Em on was the Meteor you can see in this shot......it is way too fast and for grown ups only ;-) (as I told Emily). I'm quite pleased with how this shot has turned out, but obviously my shutter speed was a little to fast (i think?) as I haven't got the light trails I would have liked! Live and learn as they say!
Back home now watching Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy.......much more tame, thank goodness :-)
