Twinning meeting

We had a wander into tbe Town Hall this morning to escape tbe rain.

The first person I wax saw was The Town Crier.

His face was familiar to me. A quick question confirmed we have met before and I have a photo of him already.

He was one of a group of Town Criers I met as a the Olympic Flame arrived in London in 2012.

Dad introduced himself in his capacity of Chair of Hesket Parish Council, and when we asked for a photo tbe Town Crier suggested the best ones would be with the Mace. He was right.

The Mace is not only used in Oxford but it deputises in The House of Commons when their Mace is not available.

We have had a lovely lunch with Adam today before saying our goodbyes. It has been brilliant seeing Adam so settled and clearly enjoying himself.

Dad has gone home on the train while we have made our way home by car.
