Diary of an Edinburgher

BISMARK!

A glorious blue skied, crisp, still day demanded action. Archie and I set off on an adventure. (Note to self: Always tidy up all the doggie toys from the hall before we go out - when JR came home to the sight in the afternoon, before us, she thought the house had been ransacked!)

I checked on the web for a suitable walk with a park, and headed off to Cannonmills, where we walked along the Water of Leith Walkway to Leith. What a great bit of the walkway - all new flood prevention walls, tarmac paths, no muddy puddles, river fenced off so no danger of daft wee dogs jumping in.

In the park we met Bismark. What a grand chap he was! Archie was in awe. Though he did have a big chunk of skin of his cheek missing - a wee spaniel had grabbed hold of him, and the spaniel's owner had dragged the spaniel away - with a mouthful of skin! Bismark, had he the mind to, could have EATEN the nasty spaniel. It's always a worry though, meeting new dogs...

I spotted a new doggie treats shop in Leith on the Dugs Welcome website, so popped in for a visit. The lady was very nice, she was very excited - her shop was newly opened. She gave Archie a treat and and I bought Archie a present - a future blip if ever I saw one!

A wander round the waterfront - folk out eating their lunch in the sun. We popped into a dog friendly pub for sustenance and a sit down, then home on the longest, rattliest, speediest, screeching to a haltiest, most roundabout route - over every cobbled street in town. If Archie doesn't get sick doing that, then why does he get sick in the car? He's a wee mystery...
