A better result
Came home to find the dreaded envelope waiting for me, from the NHS and panicked as it had only been 4 weeks since I went for my 6 month follow up smear test (following on from August's abnormal result and September's surgical procedure and subsequent infection). I panicked, because it normally takes 8-12 weeks in our area to get results back, unless there is something wrong!
I was so relieved I wanted to cry. I haven't done yet. Probably will do in a bit, when I soak in the bath and drink a glass of wine to celebrate the temporary reprieve - another six months and I will go for another checkup, and wait anxiously for the next envelope!
So, for the time being, I am NORMAL.
I am also, no doubt, in the eyes of some today...bitchy, petty and small minded, unreasonable, too strict, a bit of a nightmare, rude, uncommunicative, lacking empathy. I worry about this a bit. But, I am who I am, things have to be done, things have to be said. That's all there is to it. I know that I believe that certain things are right and wrong, and that ensuring that people I care about and respect get a fair deal is important to me. I won't stand by and condone it when fairness isn't there.
I'm also a stroppy cow and taxi drivers have been the target of my rude hand gestures today.
