Banking on a Star.....

........woke to find Nancy beside me in bed; she'd been to a workshop party* with chums and I didn't hear or feel her creeping in at n o'clock this morning.

We cycled down to the Kirkgate to do a shop at Lidl's; witnessed a shoplifting attempt, security guard chasing, apprehending and shouting incident and then spent the next 30mins answering questions from Owen and his mate about why the man wanted to steal from the shop, etc. The Kirkgate is a colourful part of town.

Cycled via Ocean Terminal to buy a card and book for Uncle Leo's 31st birthday and then back home in time to dump bikes and drive to collect Edwards' Eye for a few pintages in the sunshine at the Starbank Inn. LLCoolJim has come over all crickety.

Feeling squiffy and conversational, rocked up at Uncle Leo's for awesome chicken and honey, sticky thai rice and prawns in a lemon grass sauce. Top scoff.

Home now and reflecting on the snap decision to go to Paris next weekend for one night. We'll be visiting LLCoolJim's Ozzy cousin Sean. He's from Melbourne and I suspect Melbourne is quieter for his relocation to Paris........madness awaits next week.

* someone who owns a workshop and a set of decks, throws a party with a half decent DJ and lots of people get to hear abut it. A bit like a warehouse party from the old skool days, only much smaller.
