Fishermen's Cottages, Galway, Ireland

Formerly fishermen's cottages, I suspect and fear.

Having finished my tour of duty as an External Examiner, we set out on a short tour of Ireland, and ended up almost as far west as it's possible to be in Europe (excluding that small northerly volcanic island that sits just at the plate boundary).

Galway is very lively, as these day and night street scenes show.

There are many interesting places to eat, including this restaurant near the Spanish Arch; and the famous Macdonagh's Fish Restaurant.

Several of the shops apparently cater for eccentric persons who find beezles (known to some as "sheep") both attractive and intelligent. For example, see this fine display, and these mugs and Aran knitwear.
