Day #1 Road Trip
We've made our way from home through the traffic of Los Angeles and onto the Pacific Coast just south of Ventura and Santa Barbara.
Once above Santa Barbara and Buellton, we then made a slight detour to enjoy dinner at Avila Beach (google it), with a look at the sea lions and a spectacular view looking south on the coast.
On the road again with full tummies, we drove north toward San Luis Obispo and then west where we came under the umbrella of coastal clouds near Morro Bay and Cayucos. We then drove on north to our evening's destination--San Simeon.
Tomorrow morning we plan to exit our motel early and spend the day enjoying the Big Sur Coast and the drive North on Highway #1.
I had an entire story written here, when I lost it all to Cyberspace's Neve-Neverland. So you are spared the blow-by-blow details because I need to get some sleep.
More tomorrow.
Good night from California's Central Coast.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. The old race car in today's photos certainly caught Mr. Fun's attention. This weekend, the city of Monterey will host the "Historic Race Cars." Because the cost of lodging in Monterey has more than doubled there, we'll spend the weekend further north. :-(
