Bad hair day

Today's the day ................... to update you on octopetala

Last month I featured a little Mountain avens or Dryas octopetala to give it its proper name. I thought you might like to hear how it is progressing?

It now has developed an amazing seed head with long, wispy tendrilles, almost like feathers which will no doubt eventually float away with seed attached, to try to establish a new plant somewhere else. At the moment though, it looks as if it is having a real bad hair day ..........

Just as an aside - have a look at Arnside and beyond's blip of Wifie. Now I'm more than a little fond of Wifie, and would hate to say anything to offend her ....... but I think there is a distinct similarity in the pose?!
