Ha, ha, ha, hee, hee, hee, I'm the laughing gnome

Let me tell you these gnomes had nothing to laugh about! In fact, today's match was so bad we'd have been better sitting round the pond in my garden like real garden gnomes.

There was gusty wind, a couple of sharp showers and hardly any fish were caught. 14 of us fished and if we'd been dwarves we'd have been 14 grumpy's!!!!! Maybe two would have been super grumpy because they caught nothing, nil, nada, zero, zilch in 5 hours!!!

As usual when the fishing's bad the banter is good. Shaun and I fished a Manchester United v Chelsea match,by counting how many we caught, which ended up at 3-3, although I'm sure one of Shaun's fish was offside!!!

Roy entertained us by singing his three standard songs, "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts", "The Banana boat song" and for some strange reason "Sex Bomb".

Wayne caught the tree (but he usually does) and Wayne Jr followed in his father's footsteps and caught the ivy on the wall in the photo.......6 times!!!

Gordon whistled the theme from The Snowman almost non stop, and Tommy and Mark told a series of increasingly dirty jokes as the day wore on.

It's a good job we've all got a weird sense of humour or tackle might have been hurled in the water, people would have gone home early or someone would have thrown themselves in out of frustration.

Oh well , back to work tomorrow and a 6.00 p.m. finish......Yippee!
