All Go Tuesday

Tuesdays are our busy days at the moment. We have Ethans swimming class in the mornings (although he wasn't so excited at it today as he usually is). Then home for a few hours and lunch, before going back out to our PEEP class. He did really enjoy that today though even if he did try to commandeer lots of the toys all for himself!

His development seems to go in spurts with nothing major happening for weeks, then lots of things all at once. This week I've really noticed that he has started to babble a lot more and it is really sounding like "bah, bah, bah" rather than just random noises. Sometimes when he makes noises, hubbie pulls at his bottom to change the noise. Today, I saw Ethan doing it himself for the first time - several times in fact and then he copied me when I did it too!

He is also much better at getting around in his baby walker on the carpet. He has been great at whizzing along on the laminate flooring for a while now but can now cope with the carpeted areas too. I turn my back for a second and find he has moved to a different room in the house. He's clearly loving the independence. When he's in the kitchen, he makes a bee-line for the kitchen drawers - luckily the baby walker stops him from being able to open them too wide but I can see what's going to happen once he can move of his own accord!

The other thing he has started doing is to move forwards in a kind of bum shuffle. He can't get very far and only really does it when he's sitting in the play mat which has sides on it (I think he also pulls himself forward on the sides). However, he is starting to become more mobile so it's time to babyproof the house more methinks!
