Loving would be easy if your colours.....
were like my dream,
Red, Gold and Green.
I know this might be getting a bit boring but some of you seem to like our maples and there's only one more worth blipping after this.
This is Acer palmatum dissectum. It's the original of last night's red version.
It starts off as a pretty vibrant green and then turns these shades of red, orange and yellow.
Today's been a good day, left early to go fishing and got to the lake just as day was breaking. Spent half an hour just sitting and watching the sky change. The Sun came up over the cottages, mist on the water and a thousand ripples from rising fish. The four of us sat in the warm sunshine for four and a half hours and never caught a thing. (It was very cold last night and the water had dropped below 17C and fish don't feed at that temp), but we didn't mind. It was bright and quiet, we watched the birds and told jokes and went home contented.
It'll be different next week, when we're back at the same water for the first match of the Winter League......it'll be intense and cut-throat and probably cold and windy....but today reminded us of one of the perks of being an angler.
Das vidanya my friends.
