Dog Treats
I was feeling guilty because I'd cut back on the duration of Miss Annie's walks lately, so I thought I'd make a special effort to give her an interesting outing this morning.
We started with a short car trip to Fairhaven, and began the walk with a visit to dog-friendly Village Books. I ran into the owners, Chuck and Dee Robinson, as soon as I walked inside, and they gave Annie a dog treat. When I went to the counter to buy a ticket for a future book promotion/NSEA fundraising event, Annie was offered another treat, which she gladly accepted.
I thought I might need another blip in my Historical Marker series today, so I took a photo of one of them, and we walked the streets for a while. Eventually, I felt the need for a latte and one of Avenue Bread's incredibly light and fluffy cream scones. It was unseasonably warm, so I was able to indulge myself without having to confine Annie to the car. She did a good job of cleaning up the few crumbs I dropped. (Don't tell C, but I gave also gave her a piece of my scone).
As a finale, we went for an amble along Padden Creek. I induced Annie to get her feet wet by throwing a few pieces of dog kibble into the water. She found lots of interesting smells along the trail.
Annie spent the afternoon sleeping after her busy morning. I think she enjoyed her outing -- I know I did.
The Historical Marker blips are still in my back pocket.
