...where the tree tops glisten...

This was our garden at 5.30 p.m. today, but it could just as easily have been 7.00a.m. this morning. We've had a severe frost and the trees have been covered in rime all day. The roads and pavements are now like skating rinks and getting about is becoming more difficult.

On the quiz front....calamity...we lost our first match of the season, away at the Cricket Club!

Round 1 8-6 Well do you know in which English county Robert Kett led a revolution in 1549?
Round 2 6-9 due to our knowledge of African deserts, American games, The Rich lLst and Chicken Dishes
Total 14-15 (and the only time we were in front all match)
Round 3 7-4 Could you remember the full name of the character who shot J.R.Ewing in Dallas.?
Total 21-19
Round 4 8-4
Total 29-23
Round 5 8-6
Total 37-29
Round 6 12-10
Total 49-39
Round 7 7-4
56-43
Round 8 9-4
Final score 65-47

So our record is now 10 and 1.
Totally gutted, that's not just a loss, that's a pasting. Not that I'm a bad loser but I thought one set of questions was easier then the other set and we got the hard set. .....and then the other results started to come in ....of the four results that arrived 3 of the home teams had won by big margins.... 18 points in our game, 19 in another and a whopping 30 in the third and the only away win was against the 2nd bottom in the league by a measly 3 points.

So I was right the questions were skewed, with one set noticably easier. There'll be a complaint going in to the setters!

And the CC played all the delaying tactics they could, asking for questions to be repeated and for spellings to give themselves more thinking time.

And the supper was rubbish!

Bad loser me....never...well not much...oh alright then you got me....yes!

But we still have a clear three point lead and we'll have them when they play at our place, they won't be allowed to get away with their sneaky little tricks with our question master....and I might just arrange for a really poor supper for them as well....no chips, no posh sandwiches, just white bread and fish paste!

Ooh I'm sir-di-tih.
Das vidanya my friends.

The answers? Norfolk and Kirsten Shepherd (We all knew the Kirsten bit)
