Chaos in the snow

Now, we've had snow for quite a while now, yes it's caused minor problems yet today it started snowing and the world seemed to grind to a halt. All Lothian buses were suspended (after this photo was taken) cars got stuck on the M8, hundreds had to walk home.

On our street it caused absolute gridlock. This photo was taken as it was clearing. I never managed to work out exactly what the problem was but traffic in all three directions on the road was going nowhere.
