Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Crystal Cove Christmas

The two of us woke early to drive west to the coast. We had heard on last evening's TV news that the mild winds had swept the skies clean of all haze and that the coastal islands were vivid in the distance. So we booked a date with each other: Breakfast at the Beach! The air was not quite as clear as yesterday's report and we could see the island (even though that's not apparent in this photo).

Crystal Cove management has prepared this place for Christmas. So we didn't resist the opportunity to capture a keeper -- maybe something to frame, wrap, and then give the kids and grandkids in twelve days.

We had a delicious organic breakfast together and then I walked the water's edge snapping or is that clicking -- to capture photos of foam fizziling and waves crashing. I think of this as "Mallary's Beach" because we saw her and her family on the sand at Crystal Cove this past July after our surprise meeting her in Laguna two days before . . . a delightful memory.

We drove south into Laguna for a quick stop at the "Friends of the Library Store" and purchased some cheap treasures (he purchased music; I purchased a used book). It was 78 degrees F at Laguna Beach today, at home 83 degrees. This weather feels as though summer has arrived. Crazy!

Tomorrow is Mr. Fun's birthday. I'm so excited. I love birthdays!

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. I forgot to mention in last night's blip that the students all are wearing different colored outfits because every choral group from the university comes together to be Choral Union and they seldom perform all together because mostly they are traveling as smaller groups to perform. Each group has their own special attire; they looked lovely and the cantata was such a wonderful experience. Thanks for the comments. I wish you could have heard them!
