All at Sea

Our first day at sea and we are finding our sea legs and where to stash four cases of belongings in a small space.
We're also finding that, much to our horror, wine and the internet are very expensive.
The latter costs $.75 a minute, which means that my blip commenting will be non existent for the next 3 weeks.

If we thought our fellow train passengers yesterday were mostly a bit over the hill, our fellow shipmates are even more so. We should have guessed that we weren't going on an activity holiday.

His Lordship unkindly commented that it was beginning to look like a pilgrimage to Lourdes, so many wheel chairs and sticks were around. The whole company was making him feel very old- he's a very sensitive man and easily depressed, you see. I'm made of sterner stuff and just thank my lucky stars that our genes are holding up..... so far.

Anyway a trip to the gym this morning has lifted his spirits as I knew it would. There's nothing like a bit of sweat on the brow to make you feel younger and fitter. The wheel chairs and sticks are somehow not so visible today.

We are at sea all day today and all day tomorrow before we reach Funchal in Madeira. I can feel the warmth just beginning.
