Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Fly a Kite!

With four dogs in the house and three of them under a year old, and quite puppy-like, we were all awake early. The dogs were ready to play! Our daughter, son-in-law, and Mr. Fun got up first and soon the coffee was made and then all of them went to the fire ring in front of our house and built a fire and played Frisbee with their two pups.

Mid-morning the kids made a wonderful quiche breakfast that we all devoured. Once the dishes were done, we all scatter to do our own thing. The kids got in the car and went to the thrift store to look for a few things. Mr. Fun and I walked to the frozen yogurt shop, and my sis took a nap.

When we got back to the house, Mr. Fun grabbed his kite kit and headed for the sand, so I gathered Chloe and took her outside with us. Mr. Fun tore open the package, assembled the parts, threaded the string, and soon was flying his kite. He spent several hours in the late afternoon playing with that toy -- with every care gone, while he played in the wind. I had the joy of watching him play and tried my best to capture it with my point and shoot as Chloe sat on my lap in a beach chair.

About 7:00 p.m. the kids headed for home and now we're doing a movie night right here at the house with DVDs that my sis and us brought to share with each other. So we've watched Stardust this evening.

Good night from the beach at Ventura in Southern California.
