Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

It's Sunrise Somewhere

This morning just before 6:30, I pulled back the window coverings in our upstairs master bedroom to discover that a morning performance had been scheduled and the only price for admission was to "show up." So I slid open the sliding glass door and stepped onto the deck. The strong breeze in my face let me know that the high northeast wind was back, at least twelve hours earlier than the weather reporters had predicted.

After about 10 clicks of the camera, I was back inside and crawling between the sheets to enjoy the warmth I had left there.

Moments later Mr. Fun stepped onto the deck. He took the camera with him, but today it is one of my captures that I've selected. It's the winner because it contains the moon.

Mr. Fun stepped back inside and started this song playing on the iPod. Since our daughter had introduced us to this music, we made a short video of the morning sky with the singing in the background and sent it as a text to her. She immediately sent a text back with a morning "hello"!

It was a fun early morning. I guess I should have blipped it right then, but I didn't want to preempt the day. So I waited and watched all day, but honestly, the the morning was too lovely not to put it center stage on today's page. It's even better in large--just tap the magnifying glass at the bottom of the photo.

One last thought, the comment on yesterday's page by ~ Cabbagetree is quite poignant and so are many of the others. I've thought about these all throughout the day. Thanks everyone.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe), aka Carol

P.S. We took Chloe to the vet late this afternoon for her Bordetella injection. We stayed in the waiting room while the assistant took Chloe to an exam room. Moments later we heard a loud yelp and then a moment later the assistant came out holding Chloe telling us there was a delayed reaction--that Chloe didn't yelp until the injection was completed. As the assistant handed her to us, Chloe started yelping all over again and trying to get to her back, biting at it. She was just going crazy and yelping. It was frightening. So we stayed in the waiting room for a length of time to make sure the bad reaction was over. This evening here at home she's been fine, but mostly sleeping. Chloe would say it was not a good visit. Thankfully we don't have to go back for a long time.

P.P.S.

Sunrise Sunrise
Looks like morning in your eyes
But the clock's held 9:15 for hours

Sunrise
Sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried
Cuz the afternoon's already come and gone

And I said
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

Surprise
Surprise
Couldn't find it in your eyes
But I'm sure it's written all over my face

Surprise
Surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day

Then I say
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

And now the night
Will throw its cover down, ooo, on me again
Ooh, and if I'm right
It's the only way to bring me back

Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you
Hooo, yeah, hooo, hooo
To you
