Capturing the Sky -- Impossible

Because I didn't have an appointment at the campus this morning, we woke later than usual. I just remember hearing Mr. Fun say, "Where's your camera?" Then he added, "The sky, you've got to see the sky."

So we found my little point & shoot downstairs were I had left it last night, ran back up the stairs, and stepped out the sliding door of the upstairs bedroom and tried to capture the impossible. It's always so much better in person. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Later in the morning we gave all 3 pooches a bath. That is always a fun moment. We had just about gotten them all bathed and dried, when we got a text message that a good friend, Jack, had been taken to the hospital emergency room and was going to have surgery to remove his appendix. So mid-afternoon we went to the hospital in Orange County and stayed with Jack and his wife for a while. He was finally taken into surgery early evening. We haven't heard yet if he's out of surgery.

We knew the Friday afternoon traffic would make getting back to the Inland Empire a very congested, stop-n-go experience, so we took a back road through Carbon Canyon and then stopped in Chino Hills at the Yard House Bar & Grill (really a lovely restaurant) for an early dinner. The Happy Hour prices from 3:00-6:00 are a real bargin. Then we arrived home long before the western sun was setting. It's been a pleasant day. The temperature dropped to 88 degrees --that was a relief. Then I opened blipfoto and discovered that my photo of the campus yesterday caught some attention--that was a fun surprise. Thanks everyone.

Well, the weekend has arrived. I like everyday, but the days that begins with "S" are some of my favorites.

Good night from Southern California.
