Diary of an Edinburgher

De-lic-ious!

A busy day - JR off to school and after we'd waved her off at the window, Archie and I sprung into action. Three loads of washing hung out (one downside of house swapping is that you have all their sheets, towels etc to wash).

The TV technician came and fiddled about, tutting and shaking his head... He was amazed at what the helpline had had me doing the other week, saying,

'They shouldnae hae telt ye tae dae that...'.

Upshot was, he declared the TV to be 'faulty'. He'd submit his report, but had no idea what would happen next. Out of his hands.

I also spent some time on the phone (actually, listening to 'orrible muzak, while waiting to get through...) to Scottish Power, having tried yesterday to enter my gas reading online as requested, but kept getting 'There is an error' message. This switchover of suppliers was supposed to happen months ago.

'Oh no, you have to do your first gas reading by phone.'
'That's not what it says in the email.'
'Don't know why they say that. It's wrong.'

' Then why don't you bl**** well fix it!' I didn't say...

When we were in London we got a text message from the vet saying that Archie was due his worming tablets. I have the date marked as next month. Today I rang them. 'Sorry, our automatic reminder software has been playing up.'

And all this technology is supposed to make our life easier, more efficient?

Such a nice day, so Archie and I set off to have a wee look at the madhouse that is the Royal Mile in Festival time. He's good in crowds - doesn't seem to mind at all. He was quite a hit with these performers, though the chap dressed as a tiger kept stroking Arch and saying, in a tiger-ish voice, 'Isn't he de-lic-ious!'

Then I had a de-lic-ious Frisky (frozen yoghurt) and Archie got frisky in the Meadows. It was SO Hot! We're both stuffed.

This year, I'm only going to take a photo of a Festival performer if Archie can be in it too. There's a challenge (I may live to regret...)
