Windfall

This morning we set of earlyish (9am) to visit the market in Charis and have breakfast there. We wandered through the market deciding on what to get, sat in the cafe as it was cold and rainy. Picked a couple things up from the supermarket then walked back through the market picking up the things we planned.
I got a couple of photos but was too 'shy' to try and get a more interesting close up of the characters selling chickens, ducks and rabbits. Maybe one day I won't be so scared....or maybe one day I'll have a much longer lens!! ;)
We then drove to Aubeterrre to see the church carved out of the hillside and the beautiful little village. We will need to go back there! It was lovely. I really enjoyed going round the church and would quite like to know bit more about the history. But I very quickly gave up listening to the commentary on the wee stick as it went on quite a bit and I couldn't hold it and take photos....so, the camera won! ;)
It pored down just as we got back to the car to drive back to the villa for lunch almost enough to clean the windscreen!!
After lunch Lou and Cathie took off to collect Marianne and Eve from the airport. I got to enjoy some Sunny time.
Unfortunately the pool was covered in leaves and it was too windy and cold to be enticing...even for Sunny! So instead we picked some windfall apples and damsons to stew, prepared and stewed them, played a number of games of Dobble. While Sunny played games on the iPad, I read a bit of my book, then we competed against each other to see who could fire their rocket the furthest until one got stuck high up in the tree. Then we took to tree climbing. We managed to retrieve the rocket but as we both got to the ground we discovered that our legs (in particular the backs of our knees) were REALLY itchy!!! So after having a cold shower to try and calm that down we started on preparing dinner for everyone coming back.
We had a lovely time.....they didn't as they were stuck in traffic and ended up an hour and a half late!
The four travellers were all tired, tense, dazed and frought and didn't really manage to unwind till dinner, clearing up and dessert of cake and stewed fruit in PJs was over!
Phew!! Everything seems alright again!
I wonder what tomorrow will bring? ;)
