Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Spain!

Bailey and her mum arrived about midday, and they all went for a run up the Hill. Archie trotted off, happy as Larry, without a backward glance. We've had photos of them relaxing on the a sofa each this evening. I doubt the fact that his mums are not there has crossed his mind, he's so happy with J and Bailey. He'll have a great holiday!

Arrived in Malaga twenty minutes before schedule, to the usual Ryanair fanfare. Mind you, that's easy to do if you add half an hour on to the flight times... But they had snaffled my walk-on luggage (and many others') and put it in the hold, which meant we had to wait at the luggage thingie. For at least half an hour. And there were lots of families with tired scratchy young children. From touch down to leaving the airport took us 2 hours!! The joys of travel...

Then we got the train into Malaga... And had to walk miles to the hotel, when we thought it was 'near the station'. Turns out it IS near the station - but the station before Malaga Centro. Arggggh!

Went down to the bar for a beer. And what a bar it was - you came down to it on this slide! We both did, but actually, you could come down normally by lift as well, which is how everyone else arrived. Apologies for the rubbish photo - iPhone and fisheye lens in the semi-darkness don't produce good photos.

Tomorrow we go back to the airport (but now we're very handy for the train!) and meet up with the rest of the group. Then we commence our bus/train tour of Andalucia. Exciting.
