Last of the summer lunches

Top Gun is off to Paris for a few days tomorrow so we went out for lunch in Loch Fyne and a chance to catch up. Quick selfie up against the wall followed although we have come out of it looking like a pair of weird circus clowns on a night out!

The restaurant in Guildford is one of the nicest I’ve been to and we were looked after by a very tired waiter who was clearly run off his feet but maintained his composure. I admire good waiting staff, it’s a tough job and a lot of awkward customers.

Anyway that’s it, last of the summer lunches, back to work tomorrow ...

And yet as we tumble into autumn, it was in fact a lovely sunny day. But we now have a tabloid forecast of snow and gloom and doom and god knows what else before the end of the month. I’m increasingly feeling like Dr Johnson who forbad discussions about the weather … just get on with it … lunches aside ….
