Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie loves Bailey

Laura came to take Archie out round the Meadows this morning. When he came back he went crazy - I don't think he counts walks on the lead as proper walkies - and charged around the house, even into the garden, grabbed a small pot plant that hadn't been planted yet, and charged around with white flowers sticking out of his mouth and potting mix dropping everywhere on the newly hoovered floors. Very funny, but naughty.

Uncle A came over for an Easter Sunday roast, a week late, but never mind. It was delicious with amazing roast potatoes. I could eat dozens of roastie spuds, as could Uncle A.

Just after Uncle A had left, Bailey and her mum paid us a surprise visit. Archie was soooo excited. They even had a wee tug-of-war together over Archie's favourite toy. So sweet. Bailey lies up on the sofa, and Archie just rests his face as near as he can, gazing at her adoringly, while waiting for her to deign to play again. (See extra).

We made a spur-of-the-moment decision to book a rather nice (dog friendly) hotel for a couple of nights later this week. I don't hold out much hope for sunshine, but you never know - weather forecasts can be wrong.

And so we'll try a travel sickness pill for Archie. He really has to learn to go in the car for longer journeys, because we'd like to take him on trips when the good weather comes.

JR planted the flowers in the front garden. The punnet that Archie mauled seems non the worse for wear, though missing a couple of florets.

PS Does Archie look everso-slightly podgy in this shot?
