Another Garden!
I got a message from D about meeting up and we decided to do it today and go to Enys Gardens near her to see the bluebells, it's considered to be the oldest garden in Cornwall. Having done my chores I jumped in the car and headed down in glorious sunshine. The countryside is looking so pretty with Wild garlic, Bluebells, Primroses, green buds on the trees and rich brown fields recently ploughed.
I arrived exactly the same time as D and we went straight to the cafe for tea and cake! After a long chat she took me round the gardens - sadly bluebells not fully out but we saw so many other pretty flowers it really didn't matter! There was also a gorgeous pond with two ducks doing the bottoms up! Previously it would have held fish to feed the house! The Enys family lived there since the 13 C and there was an Elizabethan house but it got burnt down, so was rebuilt in 1833. There was a walled garden undergoing restoration as an Art project by Falmouth university - there was a plan but no sign of any work being done!!!
So another lovely day with a lovely lady in a lovely garden! I shall go back for the Bluebell festival at the end of April when the house will be open too!
