Diary of an Edinburgher

Gerard!

JR was up at school all day helping the teacher who is taking over her job. She'll have to call a halt soon...

Archie and I went to the Links and then we played in the back garden, with the iPad on so as not to miss anything on the news. A good day for drying the sheets too.

I fell asleep during the women's tennis semis - suffice to say they were not as gripping as yesterday's men's matches...

When JR eventually came home from school, we went up the Hill and met Bailey and her mum. And loads of dogs, including a giant schnauzer, and a standard schnauzer. In fact, I more than met Monty the giant schnauzer - he was charging around playing with Gerard the Chinese Crested Dog - banged into me, and completely knocked me off my feet! Not that that's very hard these days.

Gerard, while not my idea of an ideal dog, was a charming wee fella, full of fun. The owners, when they eventually wandered off, had to keep calling 'Gerard!' because he didn't want to leave all his pals.

We had a barbecue this evening!
