Diary of an Edinburgher

Hospital Day Four

Another action packed day in the ward - they could really do a TV series based in a hospital. Oh, they do... Lots of 'em...

More progress on the knee front. My surgeon confirmed that I'm on the waiting list for the other knee. Fortunately, when he spoke to me I was feeling fine - if he'd told me when I was waiting for, and in desperate need of, my painkillers, I may have told him to forget it!

A patient left, a new one arrived, and Mrs Helium Voice was in full flight most of the day. She cannot let a nurse, or indeed any person, pass by without asking for something. Her red button will be almost worn out. I must say, I will miss that high pitched squawk,
'I need a wee wee!' at all hours of the day and night.

Being a news junky on the most exciting and fast moving political news day in the history of exciting and fast moving political news, I have taken it very badly not being able to use my iPad to Keep Up because my phone data plan had run out. JR brought me a paper, but that's old-ish news now from this morning...

But I have found out how to start next month's data plan on my phone early, so I will be right once that's organised.

Very nice tea. I think it's even discernible to casual viewers tonight. Melon for afters.

Archie is still having his wee turns mostly, it seems, in the night and first thing in the morning. I need to be there with him. I don't actually, he's in good hands - JR and various friends of Archie's are keeping him busy.
