Diary of an Edinburgher

Trump baby!

Elizabeth took Archie out for his walk earlier than usual today because she was very busy with visitors for the rest of the weekend. Archie didn’t seem to realise that his walk was much shorter than usual.

I wanted to watch the continuation of the Nadal/Djokovic match, but also wanted to go down to the Meadows and see the Trump Blimp, which had come up on the overnight train from London. Nowhere near where Trump is, mind you.

Rather disappointingly, the blimp wasn’t airborne - it was a bit breezy and they didn’t want it floating off over Arthur's Seat. It was held down by several 'Trump Babysitters' on the end of ropes. There were some quite funny anti-Trump placards.

I got very hot and bothered and headed home again - nothing to do with missing the tennis, of course - while JR and Archie went on round by the Links. I was delighted to catch the end of the match. And the women's match.

Men's final tomorrow. Then I’m going to miss Wimbledon.
