Walking with the Snowman

Alan’s finished work now, and as it’s been such a lovely day, we decided to head into London. I’d seen that there was a ‘Walking with the Snowman’ trail, from London Bridge along the South Bank to Tower Bridge. There are12 Snowmen painted in relation to the song ‘The Twelve days of Christmas.

So we caught the train to London Bridge and set off on the trail. It didn’t take long to find them all and luckily it wasn’t too busy - I guess everyone was doing last minute shopping. We went to Borough Market for lunch where we had yummy Thai street food, then walked to the Millennium Bridge and crossed the river to St Paul’s Cathedral. We didn’t go inside the Cathedral but had a wander around before crossing back over to the South Bank.

We strolled all the way back to Tower Bridge through the Christmas market where I made a small purchase, and then went for a mulled wine for me and a coffee for Alan before catching the train home.

We didn’t stay late enough to see the Christmas lights as we had a lot to do tonight to pack the car ready for our journey North tomorrow morning. We’re planning to leave about 7am and Alan had to work wonders to get everything in the car which is now filled to the brim!
