Diary of an Edinburgher

A pleasant surprise

We walked across the Meadows this morning to meet up with Zoe - she has Wednesdays off and was taking her mum to the hairdresser. Time for a coffee and a catch up. It’s always good to hear about the stresses of teaching (even worse in the Time of Covid).

We popped into wee Press Coffee - it’s dog friendly. And in fact, the woman behind the counter knew Archie, as her schnauzer, Boris, meets him quite regularly. And sure enough, Boris came in later. Fortunately, they get on fine.

We then walked back through the park. The sun was shining, there was no wind - perfect. JR walked on over to Bruntsfield (still trying to get rid of the foreign money) while I walked home with another wee schnauzer we haven’t seen for ages - Truffle.

I popped in to visit Rufus and his mum. She has new outdoor furniture now, which makes visits easier in the front garden.

JR finally got rid of the foreign money. And the total was a pleasant surprise.

I’m always drawn to this row of garages, though the graffiti is not that marvellous.
