Too cold to sit about

In normal times on Sundays this part of the village is full of motorbikers. They congregate outside the milk bar and meet up for chats on the green. But we are on lockdown and the weather is raw and cold. However rain is coming so that might shift the snow. The wind has caused a lot of drifting up the valley.

I took the blip on my way back from delivering a birthday present to Chris. She got her plaster off on Friday and has a boot. Her ankle is quite swollen and she doesn’t seem to have mastered things yet. I also just caught Allan to pick up the sour dough starter.

The path down through the field had been tricky - hard-packed snow and very slippery so I came back the long way round on the road which meant over 2 miles.

Yesterday when Ella and I were pulling our sledges up the field she suddenly said “Granny, how do you think Joe Biden is coping?” Quite a mature question I thought.

Some of you may be giving/receiving flowers and having a nice meal today as I understand it is Valentines Day. Mr C believes this to be commercialised nonsense so there’s nothing doing in our house.
