For Dent Station

This is the turning for that will take you up to Dent Station. It is exactly 3.8 miles from the centre of Dent to get to here but then there remains a steep uphill climb to the station itself. Perhaps this explains why Dent has never become a commuter town for Leeds or Carlisle.

We were out here today to try and keep Dan up to speed (so to speak) with his driving. After being unfairly* failed on his test, he has lost a bit of enthusiasm. His rescheduled test is for September and thus a dark cloud hangs over his summer plans.

We did download the Testi app that notifies you of cancellations but so far one turned up while he was a sleep and another two while he was in an exam. I totally understand his frustration. Still, there's a life lesson here about sticking with it, although I'm not going to say that to him!

*but I would say that

Reading: 'Touching The Void' by Joe Simpson. To be honest, I've barely picked this up since reading Gary Numan's book but I got stuck right into it today.
