Ragged Robin

Today's the day .................... to be very happy

There must be millions of orchids on the island of Tiree - in fact the whole place is pretty much one enormous garden of beautiful flowers.

A lot of them are to be found as the machair - a herb rich grassland growing on wind-blown sand (see extra) but this ragged robin was one of the many flowers just growing along the verge of the road.  Everwhere is yellow with buttercups and flag irises with every colour of the rainbow mixed in. I have taken so many pictures today that I could easily use up all the year's worth of extras in one day.

As you might imagine - I'm in seventh heaven ...................!
