Diary of an Edinburgher

Ominous noises…

A nice sunny windy day for the washing, with big white fluffy clouds whizzing by. JR off to the gym, via a routine blood test, which the nurse decided not to bother with, as the ‘patient’ was obviously in the pink and healthy.

Later, we all went to Uncle A’s flat to sort a few things. Archie, bless him, was quite excited as we walked along the corridor to the door, as Uncle A used to stand outside his door and wave.

After that, we all went up the hill. It was a glorious day. The others then walked home (via the river for Archie) and I drove home via the garage. A wee spanner shaped light has popped up, meaning that it needs a service. Don’t know why, as it’s hardly done any miles since the last service. But I booked it in.

I hear general noise and creaking floorboards upstairs! The flat above us has been sold, so we’ve had a couple of months of blissful silence. JR wouldn’t let me go up and ask who they are. Is it to be still a student residence, or for a family, or even better, a city pad for a rich couple who live elsewhere and only come for the Festival? (there are such flats!)

I’ve rejoined NOW Tv, because I have spotted a new series ‘The White Lotus’, which is said to be as good as, and in the same vein as ‘Succession’, which I very much enjoyed. Who cares if there’s only ‘Changing Rooms’ and ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ on terrestrial Tv. Mind you, the cricket has been great, though not much good for a non-sports fan.
