Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Wednesday — Road Trip

After 12 sleeps in SoCal, we are traveling north. I have a laser treatment on my injured thumb tomorrow and our pup Mitzi has an appointment at the vet's office; she is starting a new treatment to help with her shrinking trachea. It's 8 injections, 2 a week, for 4-weeks.

The drive north is usually 4 hours. Today the traffic was heavy from the moment we entered the first freeway and with each freeway transition it did not get any better. So the total driving time was 4 hours and 50 minutes. The total time from one front door to the next was 6 hours and 45 minutes; that included a stop for lunch; a stop to walk the two pups; and a few stops to check the plumbing at a gas station, a minimart, a McDonald's, and a Trader Joe's. When we were younger, we could make the trip in 4-hours without stopping. The pups were younger too. The great thing about today's journey was the clear weather that gave us the opportunity to see forever; really we could see forever. The Channel Islands off of California's coast looked so close and so big, and the clouds were big white fluffy cotton puffs in the sky.

So tonight is sleep #1 here on the Central Coast and the taxes are done! And the paperwork is all put away. Woohoo!

AND Mr. Fun's doctor phoned to tell him that his recent blood test reveals that he is still cancer-free. That information put a gigantic exclamation point on the 12 nights we spent in SoCal. Answers to prayer are also what the phone call revealed. We are extremely blessed and we are thankful.

Good Night from a good place,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
