Small tortoiseshell (with dandelion)

Went to the allotment and tried out the strimmer - it still works! And the batteries had kept almost all of their charge through the winter - they really are good. So did some exploratory strimming, a bit of weeding, and the usual feeding.

Just before I felt honoured by a visit from the first butterfly I've seen up there this year - what a delight! And posing so colourfully on a dandelion (it is definitely worth leaving a few dandelions to flower this early in the spring - it's about all they have to eat, apart from som coltsfoot)
