Diary of an Edinburgher

Travel plans…

Everyone out and about in the morning - gym visits, dog walking and swimming. I did none of them. But I did pop down to M&S to pick up the item I’d ordered the other day. But first I popped in to a travel agent in town. One we haven’t used before, but Fight Centre, whom we’ve used for years, closed their two offices in town, and are showing no likelihood of re-opening (their premises are long since converted to other businesses).

I find it SO much better to speak to an actual person, toss around ideas and preferences, then leave them to do all the bookings. I came home with a big book of fabulous ideas, (Extra) and made an excellent contact with the charming young man who will organise it, who had lived and worked one summer in Queenstown (NZ).

JR and Archie had gone into town in the afternoon - to their favourite shop - John Lewis. Archie loves shopping, because people make a fuss of him and he sometimes gets treats.

Tomorrow I really WILL have to get my suitcase out and start thinking about what I need to pack. The weather in Krakow has taken a cold turn, and it’s much colder than last week, with temperatures barely over freezing - which is absolutely fine. But I’m not sure my duffle coat will be quite warm enough…

This is the only photo I took today, as I stepped off the bus. Look at that sky!!
