Carole’s house

The drive south by A1 and A14 was not too busy and it only took us 5.5 hours to Ipswich.

David said hello then left for a dinner in Southend - it had to be done - all in the aim of raising money for the election campaign.

We have enjoyed our evening with Carole catching up on their political life and news of friends plus random discussions on William Dalrymple, John Mullen and Jane Austen and “who would Agatha Christie vote for”? Also making plans for a weekend away for the 6 of us in June to celebrate her 70th which is on the same day as Aled’s - they were born in the same Welsh hospital - and Mr C’s 79+1. She was telling us about a mutual friend’s visits to Palestine. I really would like to know more - would it be good to go to show support, or would we be using valuable resources they need?

Carole bought some veggie sausages for dinner which I’ve never tried so it’s a first time for everything. But I’m not enjoying the smell of them cooking.

And hurrah - she’s going to share a room with her partner so that we get her real bed!

Nathaniel has learned his lines - the part is for a charming but flawed leader of a gang in a children’s care home. I fear his accent is too posh - but maybe they can’t discriminate and all sorts of kids are in care? He can do Scottish, American and Suffolk but despite living in Newcastle he has not developed a regional accent which is bit odd.
